School Board Proceedings

The Kenesaw Public School Board of Education met in regular session on January 11, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Action was taken on the following.

  • Approved the minutes of the December 12th Regular Meeting as amended
  • Approved the Treasurers Report.
  • Approved the January Claims in the amount of $210,273.13.
  • Re-organization  of the Board (Election of Officers)

Superintendent Troshynski served as temporary chair. Superintendent Troshynski called for nominations for Board president for the 2010 year.

NOMINATIONS FOR PRESIDENT:     Keith Heier. Keith Heier was elected by secret ballot.

PRESIDENT  Keith Heier assumed the chair of the board.

NOMINATIONS FOR VICE  PRESIDENT: Becky Harpham. Becky Harpham was elected by secret ballot.

NOMINATIONS FOR SECRETARY: Kathy Marble. Kathy Marble was elected by secret ballot.

NOMINATIONS FOR TREASURER: David Jacobitz. David Jacobitz was elected by secret ballot

The following Board Members were appointed to the Standing Commitees for 2009/2010:

EXECUTIVE BOARD: Heier (C), Harpham, Marble. FACILTIES & TRANSPORTATION:__Jacobitz (C), Kroll, Gallagher. BUDGET & PURCHASES: Marble (C), Jacobitz, Gallagher. NEGOTIATIONS & POLICY: Harpham (C), Heier, Kroll. CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION: Gallagher (C), Harpham, Marble. ACTIVITIES & PUBLIC RELATIONS: Kroll (C), Heier, Jacobitz. 

  • Approved the Randy Mierau and Company as the school auditor for 2009-2010 school year.
  • Designated the Hastings Tribune as district's legal school newspaper.
  • Designated the firm of Perry, Guthery, Hasse, & Gessford as the district's legal counsel.
  • Designated the Adams County Bank as the district's bank depository.
  • Approved the Rule 10 Annual Report for the 2008/2009 school year as presented.

The next meeting is set for February 8, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
