Every year, Kenesaw Public School selects two of the most profound spellers from each class (K-8) to participate in the annual spelling bee. There are two different parts of the competition, the oral and the written. The competition for this year was held on February 10 at the Juniata Elementary School.
This year, our very own Rose Wehrman of the sixth grade placed first in the oral and written competitions. The other competitor from Kenesaw was Jaci Vetro. The two competitors for the second grade were Jenna Jaeschke and Wyatt Hansen. The third grade competitors were James Cance and Ryan Denkert who placed third in the competition. The fourth grade competitors were Vicky Wehrman and Kelsi Robinson. The fifth grade competitors were Patricia Cena and Austin Anderson. The seventh grade competitors were Brenna Schneider who placed second in the written and Jordan Dassinger. And the eighth grade competitors were Lane Tibbs and Evan Uden who placed first in the written.
Rose Wehrman is set to go to the state spelling bee on March 20 at Creighton University in Omaha. Rose is very excited to go, and she studies every day so she can do her very best. We are all wishing her the best of luck and hope that she will make it to the national contest.
