HANKE NAMED STUDENT OF THE MONTH FOR MAY
July 31, 2010
Reed Hanke, son of Jeffrey and Trudy Hanke, was named the May Student of the Month for the 2009-2010 school year.
Reed is positive as a student in the classroom, as a player on the football field, and as a runner for track and field. When reed was not participating, he was "always there" supporting his high school peers, leading cheers in the student section, and being a positive role model for all to see.
Reed's willingness to design t-shirts and help with assemblies (Go, Richard Simmons!), work out in the off-season, and participate actively in the classroom made Reed a great student leader. Reed also showed tremendous leadership in the morning weightlifting group, inspiring others to improve physically, helping younger teammates by spotting and advising them on correct form.
His great attitude was contagious. Most recently, concerning his individual track success, Reed either won or came in a close second in his strong 400-meter run for the track team. His invitation to participate in the "all-star classic" held in Grand Island was a tribute to his talent in the 400-meter dash.
With a complementing smile to go with his positive attitude, Reed was an asset to Kenesaw Public School. Reed plans to study radiology at Southwest Community College in Lincoln and eventually make his way to UNO.
