SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships can be used at any of the three SECC campus sites(Beatrice, Milford or Lincoln). Applicants must plan to enroll at a campus in the SECC system and be a 2010 high school graduate. Applications must be obtained at http://scc.scholarships.ngwebsolutions.com. Open application dates run from Dec. 1, 2009 to Febr. 22, 2010.

NEBRASKA STATE COLLEGE SYSTEM GOVERNOR'S OPPORTUNITY AWARD--This scholarship can be used at any of the three state colleges(Wayne State, Peru State or Chadron State). The applicant must also complete an application form for admission into the specific college before the scholarship will be awarded. All applicants must be graduates of a Nebraska high school and have scored between a 21 and 24 on their ACT. Applications can be found at www.nscs.edu or can be picked up at KHS Counselors' Office. Application Deadline: December 1, 2009

AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships amounts run from $10,000 to $25,000 and are earmarked for students who are active in their community. Students and parents may learn more and download applications forms at www.axa-achievement.com. Application Deadline: December 15, 2009

ADAMS CO. EXTENSION OFFICE MARTHA & DON ROMEO SCHOLARSHIP--This scholarship is sponsored by the Nebraska Assoc. of Fair Managers in the amount of $500. Applications are available for all graduating seniors and can be picked up at the Adams Co. Extension Office in Hastings, NE. No application deadline has been listed.

STAATS CUSTOM AWARD--This $500 scholarship is for graduating seniors. Application forms are available at the Adams Co. Extension Office. Applications must be received by Sandy at the Adams Co. Fairgrounds by December 1, 2009

FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships are designated for students who have applied and been accepted to Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Students may complete applications online at www.fhsu.edu/finaid. Application Deadline: Dec. 15, 2009 with final deadline: Febr. 15, 2010

NEBRASKA INDEPENDENT FABRIC SHOP SCHOLARSHIP--This $500 award is for any youth interested in pursuing a career in family and consumer science, textiles and design, guilt or museum studies or related fields of interest. ELKS CLUB NATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS--Sponsored by the Elks Club these scholarships can be obtained by going to www.elks.org/enf/scholars. These applications are available and have an application deadline of December 31, 2009

HASTINGS AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DIPLOMATS SCHOLARSHIP--This $500 scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is a senior student currently enrolled in an Adams Co. school and who is planning on attending any college or university in the state of Nebraska. This scholarship is designed for any student who is in need of some form of financial assistance in their undergraduate studies. Applications are available in the KHS Counselors' Office. Application Deadline: December 31, 2009

BEST BUY @15 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--Best Buy is offering 1000 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each to all graduating high school seniors who can demonstrate a history of solid grades and are involved in volunteer community service or work experience. KFC COLONEL'S SCHOLARS PROGRAM--This scholarship program is dedicated to assisting students with financial need. Applicants must be 2010 high school graduates, had carried a minimum of 2.75 g.p.a. in high school and plan to enroll in a public, in-state college or university by Sept. 2010. NEBRASKA RURAL COMMUNITY SCHOOL ASSOC. SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships are awarded to students from schools holding current NRCSA membership. Students must be planning to become teachers or other related occupations, such as counselors or media specialists. Only one male and one female application per school will be accepted. GARY FISCHER FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP---This scholarship was created for those students who excel in fine arts and are planning to major in fine arts in college. Graduating seniors of NRCSA member schools are eligible. Only one male and one female application per school will be accepted. Scholarship forms are available online at www.nrcsa.net. Application Deadline: January 22, 2010

NMC DEISEL TECHNOLOGY SPONSORSHIP AND CATERPILLAR SCHOLAR-SHIP PROGRAM--This scholarship program is sponsored by the Nebraska Machinery Company and is offered to students who wish to become Heavy Construction and Agricultural Diesel Technicians. The two-year sponsorship support is worth an estimated $14,000 to the selected student. Applicants must have applied and been accepted to Central Community College then must apply and complete an application for the NMC sponsorship. UNK HONORS PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIP--This program offers incoming freshmen with unique academic opportunities. To be admitted and qualify for the Honors program scholarships, graduating seniors must be in the top 25% of their graduating class and have a minimum score of 26 or above on their ACT. The honors program provides scholarships to many students who are admitted into the program. More information and applicaitons can be obtained by going online to www.unk.edu/acad/honors. WARREN & VELDA WILSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP--This $1000 scholarship is offered to all high school graduates in a nine county region. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or university in the state of Nebraska. Awards are based on citizenship, involvement and potential. There are no ACT/SAT or class ranking criteria. Applications are available at the KHS Counselors' Office. Application Deadline: February 12, 2010

CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE GRADUATING SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP--These numerous scholarships are available for any of the three CCC campuses. This one application form will be used to qualify CCC applicants for a number of scholarships given out by the college. CCC KEN MORRISON HEALTH OCCUPATIONS SCHOLARSHIP--This scholarship is available for all 2010 high school graduates who have applied to CCC and are interested in the field of health occupations. Applications are available online at www.cccneb.edu. Application Deadline: March 1, 2010

AMERICAN LEGION AUX. NATIONAL PRESIDENT'S SCHOLARSHIP--There will be 15 of these scholarships awarded. Candidates shall be daughters, step-daughters, sons or step-sons, grandsons or granddaughters, step-grandsons or step-granddaughters of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during the dates listed on the scholarship. THE CHRISTIAN CONNECTOR INC.--The Christian Connector provides free Christian college information as well as a $2500 Christian college scholarship. Information and applications can be found at www.ChristianConnector.com.

PETER KIEWIT LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--This scholarship is presented by the Peter Kiewit Foundation in the amount of $7500 per year and is renewable for a maximum of four years. Applicants must be 2010 graduates of a Nebraska high school, have a current ACT score to submit and rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class. Financial need is also a consideration. HASTINGS COLLEGE WALTER SCOTT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--This assortment of scholarship recipients are selected based on superior academic achievements and expected contributions to the Hastings College campus. Scholarship amounts range from $8500 a year to $80,000 a year and are all renewable. Candidates must be admitted to Hastings College and have carried a 3.75 g.p.a. in high school and scored a 26 or higher on their ACT. NEBRASKA EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONAL ASSOC.(NEOPA) STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP--This scholarship will be awarded to a Nebraska high school senior who may be considering entering an office related profession. NORMA ROSS WALTER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--This scholarship was established to assist female graduates of Nebraska high schools who are planning to enroll as an English major at an accredited college or university. A stipend of $1000 will be paid at the beginning of the first year of college. Applications are available at the KHS Counselors' Office. Application Deadline: January 29, 2010

AXA ACHIEVEMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP--This $2000 college scholarship is targeted to graduating 2010 seniors who have exhibited determination to set and reach goals, that have respect for self, family and community. The Practical Nursing Scholarship is a gift which must be used at the next session of a school of practical nursing. MPCC INSTITUTIONAL & SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP--Awards range from $200 to $2000 per year. Complete the MPCC Scholarship Application online at www.mpcc.edu and submit everything as requested. PRESIDENT"S SCHOLARSHIP--For current-year high school graduates who have a 93% g.p.a. , an ACT score of 25 or higher and who complete the MPCC Scholarship Application online at www.mpcc.edu. Recipients will receive up to 15 credit hours of tuition cost each semester for two consecutive semesters. NEBRASKA PRESS ASSOC. FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP--This scholarship is proposed to award $2000 for the 2010-2011 school year to qualified graduates of Nebraska high schools enrolled or planning to enroll in post-secondary programs in Nebraska based colleges or universities leading to careers in print journalism. INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENTS OF NEBRASKA FOUNDATION CHET LINDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP--This $750 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant intending to attend a Nebraska accredited college or university. Selection of the scholarship winner will be based on scholastic application, as well as participation and leadership in school, community activities and educational goals. MCCOOK COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS--Over 40 scholarships are available throught the McCook Community College Foundation. These scholarships can be obtained by applying for admission to MCC and filling out the Foundation Scholarship application. Admission to McCook Community College is required before an award can be made. Foundation scholarship applications are available in the KHS Counselors Office. Application Deadline: March 1, 2010

2010 SCHOLAR-ATHLETE MILK MUSTACHE OF THE YEAR AWARD--This $7500 scholarship will be awarded to a student-athlete in the 2010 graduating class that has excelled in academics, athletics and community service. Student-athletes can be nominated for this award by athletic directors, coaches, principals, guidance counselors, parents and relatives. Applications can be found online at www.bodybymilk.com. LITTLE BLUE NATURAL RESOURCES DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIP--The Little Blue Natural Resources District will award three $500 scholarships to qualified students that reside within the Little Blue Natural Resources District. ADAMS/WEBSTER CO. CORN GROWERS ASSN. SCHOLARSHIP--This $500 scholarships purpose is to provide financial assistance to an eligible student enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college or technical/trade program of study. Parents or guardians must be actively farming or employees of an agriculturally related business and also be members of the Adams/Webster County Corn Growers Assoc. ROBERT C. BYRD HONORS SCHOLARSHIP--Scholarships up to $1500 per year may be awarded depending on federal allocations. Recipients may renew this scholarship up to a total of three additional years. Applicants must be a high school graduate with plans to enroll as a full time student at an post-secondary educational institution in any state. Applicants must have a MINIMUM ACT composite score of 30. Applications can be obtained online at www.education.ne.gov/byrd. Application Deadline: March 15, 2010

NEBRASKA AVIATION TRADES ASSOC. SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships in the amount of $1000 & $500 are available through the Nebraska Aviation Trades Assoc. They are awarded to any high school senior who is a resident of Nebraska and who plans to continue their education as a full-time student. An 400 word essay is required for each applicant. UNL BALANCED MAN SCHOLARSHIP--The Nebraska Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon will be awarding two $1000 scholarships to MALE high school students planning to attend the Univ. of Nebraska-Lincoln during the 2010-2011 academic year. SCHOLARSHIP--This $1250 scholarship will be awarded to a Nebraska high school student who wishes to further his or her education in law or the legal support field at an institution of higher learning. CONESTOGA MALL ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP--This $500 community service scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior from a high school in Central Nebraska. Applications are available in the KHS Counselors Office or online at www.shopconestogamall.com. Application Deadline: March 31, 2010

ADAMS CO. FAMILY AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP--These two $500 scholarships are good for any 4 yr., 2 yr. or technical college in the state of Nebraska. Applicants must be either a member of an Adams Co. 4-H club or the son or daughter of an active member of an Adams Co. Family & Community Education club. AMS/NWA JIM JOHNSON METEOROLOGY SCHOLARSHIP--A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who will be pursuing a career in one of the physical sciences. The scholarship is also open to those going into the teaching profession in the physical sciences. SOUTHERN POWER DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIP--The SPD is offering a limited number of $1000 scholarships to individuals who plan to attend an accredited school to begin a utility line study program in 2010. ADAMS CO. FARM BUREAU FEDERATION SCHOLARSHIP--These three scholarships, in the amount of $1000(1) and $500(2) are awarded by the Adams County Farm Bureau. All students are encouraged to apply, not just those that are pursuing a career in agriculture. Applications are available in the KHS Counselors' Office. Application Deadline: April 1, 2010

LINCOLN BUILDERS BUREAU EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--This scholarship, in the amount of $750 is awarded each year to an employee of a Lincoln Builders Bureau member company, or the child of an employee. The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll as an undergraduate of an accredited college or trade school with a focus on construction science. JOHNNY BAXTER CARRIAGE HOUSE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP--This $1000 scholarship will be awarded in each of the six Community College areas in Nebraska for students pursuing training for an automotive career. HASTINGS ROTARY MERIT SCHOLARSHIP--This $1000 scholarship is for any student in the graduating class of an Adams Co. high school.
