SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships can be used at any of the three SECC campus sites(Beatrice, Milford or Lincoln). Applicants must plan to enroll at a campus in the SECC system and be a 2010 high school graduate. Applications must be obtained at http://scc.scholarships.ngwebsolutions.com. Open application dates run from Dec. 1, 2009 to Febr. 22, 2010.
NEBRASKA STATE COLLEGE SYSTEM GOVERNOR'S OPPORTUNITY AWARD--This scholarship can be used at any of the three state colleges(Wayne State, Peru State or Chadron State). The applicant must also complete an application form for admission into the specific college before the scholarship will be awarded. All applicants must be graduates of a Nebraska high school and have scored between a 21 and 24 on their ACT. Applications can be found at www.nscs.edu or can be picked up at KHS Counselors' Office. AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP--These scholarships amounts run from $10,000 to $25,000 and are earmarked for students who are active in their community. Students and parents may learn more and download applications forms at www.axa-achievement.com. Application Deadline: December 15, 2009
ADAMS CO. EXTENSION OFFICE MARTHA & DON ROMEO SCHOLARSHIP--This scholarship is sponsored by the Nebraska Assoc. of Fair Managers in the amount of $500. NEBRASKA INDEPENDENT FABRIC SHOP SCHOLARSHIP--This $500 award is for any youth interested in pursuing a career in family and consumer science, textiles and design, guilt or museum studies or related fields of interest. HASTINGS AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DIPLOMATS SCHOLARSHIP--This $500 scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is a senior student currently enrolled in an Adams Co. school and who is planning on attending any college or university in the state of Nebraska. This scholarship is designed for any student who is in need of some form of financial assistance in their undergraduate studies. Applications are available in the KHS Counselors' Office. GARY FISCHER FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP---This scholarship was created for those students who excel in fine arts and are planning to major in fine arts in college. NMC DEISEL TECHNOLOGY SPONSORSHIP AND CATERPILLAR SCHOLAR-SHIP PROGRAM--This scholarship program is sponsored by the Nebraska Machinery Company and is offered to students who wish to become Heavy Construction and Agricultural Diesel Technicians. The two-year sponsorship support is worth an estimated $14,000 to the selected student. Applicants must have applied and been accepted to Central Community College then must apply and complete an application for the NMC sponsorship. UNK HONORS PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIP--This program offers incoming freshmen with unique academic opportunities. To be admitted and qualify for the Honors program scholarships, graduating seniors must be in the top 25% of their graduating class and have a minimum score of 26 or above on their ACT. WARREN & VELDA WILSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP--This $1000 scholarship is offered to all high school graduates in a nine county region. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or university in the state of Nebraska. Awards are based on citizenship, involvement and potential. AMERICAN LEGION AUX. NATIONAL PRESIDENT'S SCHOLARSHIP--There will be 15 of these scholarships awarded. Candidates shall be daughters, step-daughters, sons or step-sons, grandsons or granddaughters, step-grandsons or step-granddaughters of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during the dates listed on the scholarship. PETER KIEWIT LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--This scholarship is presented by the Peter Kiewit Foundation in the amount of $7500 per year and is renewable for a maximum of four years. Applicants must be 2010 graduates of a Nebraska high school, have a current ACT score to submit and rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class. Financial need is also a consideration. HASTINGS COLLEGE WALTER SCOTT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM--This assortment of scholarship recipients are selected based on superior academic achievements and expected contributions to the Hastings College campus. Scholarship amounts range from $8500 a year to $80,000 a year and are all renewable. Candidates must be admitted to Hastings College and have carried a 3.75 g.p.a. in high school and scored a 26 or higher on their ACT. INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENTS OF NEBRASKA FOUNDATION CHET LINDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP--This $750 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant intending to attend a Nebraska accredited college or university. MCCOOK COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS--Over 40 scholarships are available throught the McCook Community College Foundation. These scholarships can be obtained by applying for admission to MCC and filling out the Foundation Scholarship application. 2010 SCHOLAR-ATHLETE MILK MUSTACHE OF THE YEAR AWARD--This $7500 scholarship will be awarded to a student-athlete in the 2010 graduating class that has excelled in academics, athletics and community service. ROBERT C. BYRD HONORS SCHOLARSHIP--Scholarships up to $1500 per year may be awarded depending on federal allocations. Recipients may renew this scholarship up to a total of three additional years.
