A sophomore at Kenesaw High School, Rachel Halbmaier , daughter of Kal and Kristine Halbmaier, has shown the leadership skills, and the extracurricular dedication in order to become this month's student leader. The teachers of Kenesaw High School submit the names of the students they think are eligible for becoming student leader, and the student council makes the final decision of who will receive it. This month, Rachel's skill and dedication has paid off as she was elected as student leader of the month.
"Rachel Halbmaier is an exceptional student leader in both her curricular and extra-curricular activities.
"Respected by her peers and a number of the faculty, Rachel is indispensable to the choir/band members, to Mr. Arrowood, and to the ensembles. She treats others with respect they deserve, while she -- as a leader -- confidently performs her responsibilities.
"She is always the first to volunteer her time and talents to projects and certainly follows through and sees the projects to completion. If the project requires creativity, Rachel has that. If the project requires imagination, Rachel has that, too. She listens intently to directions and often performs above her age ability.
"Rachel's positive attitude is very refreshing as she works with many of us here at school."
