"A goal without a plan is just a wish!"

by Rebecca Rockefeller

January 10, 2010

The boys basketball team has had a bumpy start, but is headed in the right direction with a 2-3 record going into the holiday tournament. The Blue Devils lost to Blue Hill, 39-64, and to Hampton, 32-61. They won over Shelton, 50-49, and had a breathtaking loss of 41-43 to Bruning-Davenport. The Blue Devils won over Silver Lake, 50-46, in the last game before the Christmas break. Going to Coach Einrem for a little more insight, we asked several questions: He thought hard, and answered, "I think we will continue to improve and only get better as the year progresses. We've already played two very good games...When you have a young and inexperienced team, all of the teams on our schedule present new challenges. It's very important that the players believe in what they are doing, and they have started to get acclimated to the way we would like to play. "It will take some time, but I believe we'll get where we want to go. We would like to challenge for the Conference title, and the sub-district championship. Right now we just need to take small steps and continue to get better. I hope the boys enjoy the experience and learn that hard work, dedication, and determination can help them to reach their goals. A goal without a plan is just a wish!"
