The Last Steps to the Climb

The Lady Blue Devils basketball posts a 11-8 record. The Lady Blue Devils fell to Deshler (34-40) on January 28. In Twin Valley Conference play at home on February 1, the girls met Deshler again and lost (30-34). In the girls' last home game at Kenesaw  against Red Cloud on February 9, they lost to the Lady Warriors (38-42), and then to Sandy Creek (47-56) on February 11. After four consecutive losses, the ladies then defeated Franklin (45-41), in the first round of sub-district D1-9 competition at Kearney Catholic; and they won over Wilcox-Hildreth (40-37) in overtime in the finals of sub-district D1-9 play on February 18. The girls then met Ansley (D1-10) in the district finals at Wood River on Friday, February 26. A win over Ansley would send the Lady Blue Devils to Lincoln for competition in the state tournaments on March 4,5 and 6, in Lincoln.
