NINTH HOUR STUDY HALL
July 31, 2010
In an effort to cut down on numbers of students on the weekly ineligibility list for failing a class, any student with a grade below 70% in any one class will be required to attend ninth hour study hall to bring up deficient grades.
The study hall will be in session from 3:40 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Failure to attend will result in the student having to make up the time missed. Continued failure may result in suspension for an unexcused absence.
Students participating in athletics will be allowed to go to practice after the ninth hour study hall is over at 4:30 p.m.
The purpose is to allow students to seek help from teachers, complete assignments, make use of time to study for test and quizzes, etc. More information is available in the student handbook.
If parents decide that they do not want their son/daughter to utilize ninth hour, they must sign a form to release the student from ninth hour. By signing this form, the parent and student understand that this could lead to the student failing the class.
