Mrs.Kuehn: Title 1 & Special Education

Title 1 is...

*the largest federal aid program for our nation's schools.

*a program aimed at providing a high quality education for every child.

*a program that provides extra help and instruction to students who need it most in the areas of reading and mathematics.

*funded according to the number of students receiving free and reduced-price lunches within a school district. 

* designed to foster a close partnership between the home and the school in helping children reach their potential.

 

 

Special Education is...

a program within the school that offers additional support to students who have been identified as needing assistance.  Special Education services meet individual student needs and provide support for students in the classroom.

Biographical Information

I have been teaching at Kenesaw Public School since 1999 in the same position. Before I taught at Kenesaw, I taught 4th, 5th & 6th grades and Music at Rising Star District 29, one of the feeder schools for Adams Central that is no longer open.  I received my teaching degree in 1989 from MidAmerica Nazarene College in Olathe, KS and then an endorsement in Special Education in 1993 from University of Nebraska at Kearney. I am married to Chris Kuehn, a farmer in the Heartwell area and we have two children adopted from India, Anisha and Jozef.
